Heishin-Ryu Sogobujutsu
Heishin-Ryu Sogobujutsu is a Japanese Martial Art which is referred to as a “bundle” or integrated art. The art consists of four major martial disciplines, which cover the various ranges of combat that a Samurai warrior would face in combat. The Martial disciplines consist of: Tejutsu (striking and kicking), Jujutsu (grappling and throwing), Kobujutsu (weapons) and Iaijutsu (sword).
Tejutsu:
The martial art of the “empty hand” combat. It is a medium range combat art that primarily uses the body’s natural weapons – the hands and feet – for striking and kicking one’s opponent at vital points on the body. The roots of the art can be traced back to the martial arts of China.
Jujutsu:
The art of “close control” combat. It is a close-range art that utilizes throws, holds, pins, locks, and chokes. The roots of this art have been traced to before the 11th. Century.
Iaido:
The art of drawing and cutting. We offer training in Yamguchi-ha Toyama-Ryu which was taught to the Imperial Japanese Army.
